Yvette and Javier

Can you believe it's almost February? For us that means only one more month closer to the next publication. Yikes! There's so much to do.

Anyway, for the next few months I'm going to give you a little insight to what you can look forward to in the upcoming issue. First off, one of our fabulous brides, Yvette, whose wedding we are going to be featuring, sent us some awesome photos from her engagement shoot with the very talented Daniel W. Torres Photography.

Yvette and Javier will wed this May at the Chapel of Incarnate Word and reception will take place at the Sky Room. Look for their wedding highlights in the magazine debuting July 2010.

Enjoy!

The Perfect Gift

So today one of the girls and I went to visit Jenny Forks from Bitter Creek Designs and J. Forks Designs at The Rim. Jenny is the mastermind and designer behind some really gorgeous jewelry. Her store is so much fun too. Literally, thousands of beads, jewels, stones, metals...everything is in this store. We could have spent hours in there.

If you're unsure what to get your bridesmaids, mother or mother-in-law, this is an AWESOME gift. You can come in with everyone for a fun party and design pieces together or surprise them with something special. What's great about this store too is that you can bring in swatches of the dresses or your wedding colors and coordinate them to match. And by designing the jewelry yourself you know you're getting something completely custom.

Think custom is expensive? Not at all. Jenny works with you one-on-one to discuss your ideas and works within your budget. She's very sweet and really a true artist. And she can do all sorts of styles, traditional, edgy, classic, bold.. the possibilities are really endless.

And if you haven't picked out your colors yet, this store is a great place to start. Definitely worth visiting. For more information click here or call 210-558-0559.

Look for the up close and personal profile of Jenny in our 2010-2011 edition of the magazine debuting in July.

Inspiration

Outdoor weddings, especially in Texas, have been extremely popular within the last decade. And 2010 looks no different. So I wanted to share a few inspirational ideas for having your wedding outside.

Design relates a lot to a first impression. Treat every aspect of your design equally. The pattern or texture of your linens should complement the look of your floral arrangements. If you have a very symmetrical tablecloth an elaborate garden-inspired arrangement might not work as well as simple, modern piece. Although this is no golden rule, it's a good idea to speak with your vendors and let them know the other design elements that might be incorporated into your overall design. Soo.. with that said, let's get on to the good stuff. Look how they spruced up the walkway here. A very whimsical and romantic look.

Love this collection of photos on a line.

What a great alternative to flowers.

Have you ever seen a tent this beautiful? What a perfect tent for an Indian wedding.
