Apple Annie's Restaurant

Review from the staff at San Antonio Weddings

The other day the girls and I went to eat lunch at Apple Annie's Restaurant. We usually go out to lunch once a week, but haven't had the chance to with us being so busy before the holidays, so it was nice to catch up finally. Let me share a bit of our experience.

The parking lot was crazy full but CJ and LM found us some first-class parking. (I didn't think we could fit in the space, but LM shimmied her way in there.) Awesome!

This is a great place for brunches and bridal showers--very cozy and pretty nostalgic. You can certainly hold your reception or rehearsal dinner there if you'd like. They have a great room with crystal light fixtures and floor-to-ceiling mirrors ideal for celebrating.

Anyway, to the food. To start off we had ourselves some peach tea-my personal favorite. Yum!

The girls all had a soup, but I forgot to take pictures of it.

Anyway, entrees..I had the Monterrey Open Face sandwich with a side of fruit and sweet orange glaze dipping sauce. It was very good. Crisp veggies and large portions. A definite reorder of mine.

LM had the Philly Steak Sandwich on a croissant, with a side of potato salad and sweet pickles. It was gigantic. Took up the whole plate practically.

AG had the Texas King Ranch Chicken with cornbread. The chicken was really good, but the cornbread was super delicious. I should've ordered a tray.

CJ had the Club Sandwich. Let me tell you, I've ordered this before, and it's huge. Certainly a favorite.

OK, on to the good stuff--DESSERT! This is what I had. Yummy Chocolate Mousse Cake. Can you tell I was excited? I nearly scarfed the thing down before taking a picture. hehe.. If you like chocolate, this is the dessert for you. It's light so it's not so filling, but still satisfies that chocolate craving.

LM had the French Lemon pie. I certainly did not do it justice, this picture is horrible. Typically, I'm not a huge fan of citrus desserts, but this one was pretty good. It was sort of a custard-lemon mixture. Very yummy if you like that sort of thing.

The Peanut Butter Cream Pie that AG had was very..well, creamy. If you like peanut butter, please get this. It's delicious.

Another bad picture. But, CJ got the Pecan pie and it was pretty good. You can never go wrong with a pecan pie, especially in Texas. The pecans are always fresh and crunchy. Yum!

So if you're looking for a nice, affordable and conveniently located spot to celebrate, check out Apple Annie's Restaurant. If not, enjoy some lunch there. You will not be disappointed.

Did anyone try the BLT? Mine was unique, dry toast, dry tomato, slightly burnt, dry bacon. The only thing that wasn't stiff was the limp lettuce. Don't think I will try it again...
